Welcome BBG Artist-in-Residence Selection Committee!
These large-scale (72 x 72") paintings are examples of what I might paint during live painting performances. One image is inspired by the Islamic gardens of "paradise" of the Alhambra. Another painting is based on a self-possessed person walking alone through the winding paths of the Getty Art Center gardens in LA. The third painting is a modern take on Aristophanes' ancient Greek play "The Frogs". I've included a detail image of a redwing bird, as I am also interested in fauna that might visit BBG and integrating them into the theme of "Natural Connection" especially in regards to sound and music. I've also included Live painting performance with collaborative music by Damien Olsen. This painting, “Snowed-In” (120 x 156"), explores the impact of climate change on the Arctic and Antarctic regions. As well as other human precipitated effects on nature like forest fires, and pollution.
